Nova Scotia PNP provides alternate pathways to permanent residency which can be achieved without worrying about high CRS scores. There are multiple NSPNP pathways which you can target to achieve your Canadian dream.

Skilled Worker

In Skilled Worker stream an Employer can recruit an international graduate and other temporary foreign worker to fill the labor gap if they are not able to recruit permanent resident or Canadian citizens for the same position.

These are the main eligibility requirements of Nova Scotia Skilled Worker PNP.

  • have a full-time permanent job offer from a Nova Scotia employer.
  • have gained 1 year of work experience related to job. Workers in TEER 4 and TEER 5 must have 6 months of work experience with the NS employer before applying.
  • be 21 to 55 years old.
  • have minimum high school diploma. International graduates your Canadian education makes you eligible.
  • have the appropriate training, skills and/or accreditation for the job. International graduates utilize your Canadian education and co op experiences to complete this eligibility.
  • CLB level 5 for TEER category 0,1,2 or 3. CLB level 4 for TEER category 4 and 5.
  • show that you have enough financial resources to successfully settle in Nova Scotia.
  • NSNP 200 form required.

Occupations in Demand

In this PNP stream certain occupations are targeted which are high in demand in Canada. There is a list of eligible jobs and it’s subject to change depending on Nova Scotia labor needs.

The N.S. employer must demonstrate that they were not able to hire Canadian PR or Canadian Citizen to fill the role.

  • show enough financial resources to settle easily in Nova Scotia.
  • Employer Information Form(NSNP 200) is required.
  • The position must be receiving competitive wages for their industry or sector as per Federal government norms.

Critical Construction Workers Pilot-Nova Scotia PNP

This is a pilot program means it’s not a permanent one. This program is helping Nova Scotia’s Employers to fill the labor gaps in construction sector. You need full time permanent job offer in NS in construction sector.

These are the main eligibility criteria

Full time job offer in construction sector only in these NOCs:

  • 70010 – Construction managers
  • 70011 – Home building and renovation managers
  • 72011 – Contractors and supervisors, electrical trades and telecommunications occupations
  • 72014 – Contractors and supervisors, other construction trades, installers, repairers and servicers
  • 72020 – Contractors and supervisors, mechanic trades
  • 72102 – Sheet metal workers
  • 72106 – Welders and related machine operators
  • 72200 – Electricians (except industrial and power system)
  • 72201 – Industrial electricians
  • 72310 – Carpenters
  • 72320 – Bricklayers
  • 72401 – Heavy-duty equipment mechanics
  • 72402 – Heating, refrigeration and air conditioning mechanics
  • 72500 – Crane operators
  • 73100 – Concrete finishers
  • 73102 – Plasterers, drywall installers and finishers and lathers
  • 73110 – Roofers and shinglers
  • 73200 – Residential and commercial installers and servicers
  • 73400 – Heavy equipment operators
  • 75101 – Material handlers
  • 75110 – Construction trades helpers and labourers
  • 75119 – Other trades helpers and labourers
  • 1 year of work experience needed related to job.
  • high school diploma or construction related training program.
  • in age group of 21 to 55 years old.
  • CLB level 5 for TEER 1,2 and 3.CLB level 4 for TEER 4 and 5.
  • show sufficient financial resources to settle in Nova Scotia.
  • NSNP 200 form is required.

International Graduates in Demand

This program is dedicated to international graduates of DLI’s of Nova Scotia whose education and skills match job categories.

Only certain jobs are eligible in this program. Best for international students who want to make career in healthcare and childcare in Nova Scotia.

Eligible jobs are

  • NOC 32102: Paramedical occupations
  • NOC 32124: Pharmacy technicians
  • NOC 33102: nurse aides, orderlies, and patient service associates
  • NOC 42202: early childhood educators and assistants

Eligibility of the program

  • you need full time permanent job offer from Nova Scotia employer in a job listed above that corresponds of your recent field of study.
  • age group from 21 years to 55 years old
  • must complete your education from Nova Scotia’s DLI within three years of application submission.
  •  The program must have been at least 30 weeks in length or 24 weeks for NOC 33102 (Nurse Aids and Continuing Care Assistants). 
  • You must have completed at least 50% of the program in Nova Scotia.
  • If you are applying under NOC 32102 or 32124, your program must grant a diploma.
  • If you are applying under NOC 33102, your program must grant a certificate, diploma, or degree.
  • If you are applying under NOC 42202, your program must grant a diploma or a degree.

CLB level 5 required and have the required certifications for the job issued by the NS regulatory authority. Candidate must have enough financial resources for settlement in NS. NSNP 200 form is required

Experience Express Entry

This PNP is via Express Entry system. PNP adds 600 points in CRS making a confirmed invitation to apply (ITA). The applicant must have at least 1 year of skilled work experience in Nova Scotia.

Eligibility criteria

  • must have at least 1 year of skilled work experience
  • be 21 to 55 years old
  • have Canadian high school credential or equivalent
  • CLB 7 required for TEER 0 and 1. CLB 5 required for TEER 2 and 3
  • must have valid Express Entry profile.

International graduates in Canada you have Canadian education which makes you eligible for the high school requirement. You don’t need E.C.E for your domestic high school education as you have Canadian post secondary education. To claim points for highest education completed outside of Canada you need E.C.E.
