IRCC so far in 2025 has only conducted one trade occupations draw on September 18, 2025 leaving temporary trade applicants worried and stressed. There are many who are near their end of stay in Canada and have to go back to their home country after years of investment in Canada.

Canadian Immigration department has given trade priority in its Express Entry system saying trade people are in demand and they would conduct regular targeted trade occupations draw so they can stay in Canada permanently.

The only 2025 Express Entry trade occupations draw conducted on September 18, 2025 had CRS cut off score of 505 and only 1250 ITAs were issued, means highly competitive than 2024 trade occupations draw. There were only 2 trade draws conducted in 2024 but they were easy to crack one had CRS cut off -433 and other had 436.

When Will Be Next Express Entry Trade Occupations Draw

In 2024 there were only 2 draws means in this year there could be another one left, IRCC added cooks in the trade occupations list which skyped up the CRS cut off score to 505 and now IRCC is planning to remove cooks from this list. IRCC made a blunder and realized it too late.

If cooks are removed this will lead to ease of competition among applicants and CRS cut off score will fall making it easier for them to get ITA. But still if another trade occupations draw is conducted in this year then still CRS cut off score will be highly competitive probably higher than 500.

The chances of another trades occupations draw in 2025 are low as IRCC will remove cooks next year in January as per the communications IRCC shared internally. In next year we can see trade occupations draw at CRS cut off scores in range 435 to 450.
