In 2025 as of May 11,2025 only 4 invitations to apply(ITAs) has been issued by OINP to candidates meanwhile thousands of candidates inside Canada are waiting from several months for invitation and are at the brink of their work permit means they may become out of status anytime in Canada. This is a sharp decline from previous year as 14,760 invitations were issued by the end of May 2024. The primary reason for this decline is the 50% reduction in PNP quota by federal government, decreasing from 110,000 in 2024 to 55,000 in 2025 as per the IRCC immigration plan announced in the last October. There was only one draw occurred in 2025 that was on January 15 and only 4 invitations issued under Employer Foreign worker stream: Economic Mobility Pathway Project(EMPP) means Refugee workers were invited. There are several PNP streams in OINP which you can target. These are:
- Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker Stream
- Employer Job Offer: International Student Stream
- Employer Job Offer: In-Demand Skills Stream
- Master’s Graduate Stream
- PhD Graduate Stream
OINP also conducts Express Entry draws in which they invite candidates from EE pool for PNP. You must keep your Express Entry profile up to date to improve your chances of receiving Notification of Interest(NOIs) from OINP.
OINP is accepting new Expression of Interest (EOIs) in 2025, they still have 55000 slots in 2025 and 4 only filled till now that means OINP will give thousands of PNPs during the rest of 2025 but they will target healthcare, Construction trades French Language and Stem workers for PNP. The candidates who are waiting inside Canada and are at the edge of expiry of their status have no other option but to leave Canada.
