Good news for applicants who want to settle in Canada permanently. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted another Express Entry Draw to invite candidates for permanent residency.
IRCC issued 1,000 Invitations to Apply (ITA) under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). This means candidates holding Canadian work experience got invitations.
This Express Entry CEC draw has CRS cut off score of 534. CRS stands for Comprehensive Ranking System, it is designed by IRCC to rank candidates in the pool with other candidates. Only candidates who created their Express Entry profile before 08:28 a.m., UTC on August 14, 2025 were eligible.

If we analyze the data of Express Entry draws of 2025 we see this is the 9th CEC draw so far in 2025 and CEC draws are consistent( every 3-4 weeks) with cut offs in the 518-534 range. But on the other hand PNP draws dominate frequency, at least one every month. We can clearly see that IRCC is conducting more PNP draws over others.
If we compare this CEC draw with the last CEC draw conducted on Aug 07, 2025 there is no difference, same ITAs issued and same CRS cut off score. CEC CRS cut off may fall in the future if IRCC conducts a bigger draw than current one.
IRCC is regularly tweeting about targeted draws on X, indicating they will continue to conduct targeted draws for the rest of the year 2025. IRCC conducted healthcare draw on August 19,2025 and issued a big 2500 ITA’s. We can expect around 2-3 more healthcare draws in 2025.
Bad condition for skilled trade professionals, they haven’t seen any trade draw so far in 2025.
Should you target CEC Draw?
If you score very high in the 518-534 range then you can target CEC draws. If you don’t have bachelors degree than it’s almost impossible to attain this range. Then you can focus on targeted draws such as healthcare and French language as these draws have lower competition thus lower CRS score cut off.
