Immigration News: Alberta is Inviting People for Permanent Residency

Alberta the oil rich province of Canada is regularly conducting Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) Draws and inviting people for Permanent Residency (PR). This is important Immigration News for International Graduates in Canada and other foreign workers in Canada who are exploring the pathways for PR.

On June 25, 2025 Alberta conducted PNP Draw under Alberta Express Entry Stream – Priority Sectors (Construction) and invited 15 people with Minimum score of invited candidates was 67.

On June 20, 2025 a whooping 118 invitations issued under Alberta Opportunity Stream – Agriculture with Minimum score of invited candidates was 52.

Alberta Express Entry Stream has some priority sectors and will only consider invitations in these priority sectors which include Health care pathway, Accelerated Tech Pathway, Law Enforcement Pathway and priority sectors, such as construction, agriculture, aviation.

You must meet the minimum assessment requirements to be eligible in this stream. You must have valid Express Entry profile in the federal express entry pool, you must meet criteria of at least one of the federal immigration programs under Express Entry which are Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Trades Program and Federal Skilled Worker Program.

You also need minimum 300 CRS Score and your job in EE must in specific EE pathway or is identified as important to provincial economic, sector or priority occupations. Plus you and your employer must meet the Alberta Job offer requirements and you must have clear intention to settle permanently in Alberta.

In Alberta Opportunity Stream only certain type of workers can apply who are already working in Alberta and have full time job offer from an Alberta Employer in an eligible occupations. Applicants must have LMIA work permit or one of the accepted LMIA exemption work permits.

If you are in International Graduate to be eligible in this stream you must be graduate of Alberta Advance Education publicly funded post secondary Institution. Your occupation must be related to your field of study requirements in Alberta.
