New Brunswick is one of the growing province of Canada and it continues to invites skilled workers, international graduates of its province, and entrepreneurs to settle permanently in NB through the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NB PNP).
If you want to become a permanent resident of Canada and live in a beautiful part of Atlantic Canada where cost of living is still low as compared to western Canada you should consider NB PNP.
New Brunswick Express Entry System
There are two pathways in NB EE System
Employment in NB– This is for individuals currently living and working full time in NB with valid work authorization for at least 12 consecutive months
NB Interests– This is for those applicants who have valid EE profile and received a Letter of Interest through Express Entry. The advantage in this stream is that you don’t need any NB work experience.
Eligibility of NB PNP EE System
The applicant must be from 19-55 years old, holds minimum CLB 7 in language proficiency , scores more than or equal to 67 points on NB EOI points grid. Clear intention to reside in New Brunswick.
Skilled Worker Stream
There are three sub streams which are tailored to labor market needs and conditions:
NB Experience: For the individuals working in the province more than equal to 6 months in a full time, non seasonal position. The NB employer must be eligible one and willing to sponsor you. The applicant must be living in NB for the past 6 months, before submitting the expression of interest.
NB Graduate: This is for international graduates from NB institutions with Post Graduation Work Permit Eligibility and eligible employer support.
Priority Occupations: Requires job offer obtained via NB government recruitment drives. The job offer must be a priority occupation, non seasonal, full time and from eligible NB employer who supports your application. You also need one year of paid one year work experience in the related field.
Critical Worker Pilot
This pilot program was launched in 2022 and its a employer driven program means it enables the designated employers to fill the positions with the foreign talent to address the acute labor shortage in NB.
Participating Employers: Cooke Aquaculture, J.D. Irving Ltd., Groupe Savoie, Groupe Westco ,Imperial Manufacturing Group, McCain Foods, Ltd.
Strategic Initiative Stream
This stream is currently not accepting EOI as it has sufficient inventory of candidates for this year. This stream is only for French workers with education, skills, and experience to support NB’s French language needs.
Private Career College Graduate Pilot Program
It was a pilot program opened in September 2022. The pilot is scheduled for closure on in autumn 2025.
Business Immigration Stream
This stream is for business men who plans to launch business in New Brunswick. You need personal net worth of at least 500,000 CAD plus a business plan with a minimum of 150000 CAD in eligible investments and create one full time job. Meet minimum points of 65 from NB points grid.
Atlantic Immigration Program
This was earlier an Pilot Program but now its a permanent permanent residency program. It works jointly with Federal government. Must need job offer from designated employer in NB, plus there are other requirements that you need to meet for the eligibility.
Some Important Updates
There was some recent good news from NB as the Permanent Residency spots for NBPNP was increased to 4250 for this year. It was an increment of 1500 spots from the numbers announced in February.
It’s important to note that NB conducts dedicated draws targeting healthcare, Childcare and construction trades sectors. If you work in these sectors then you have higher chances of getting ITA for PNP.

- Labourers in food and beverage processing (NOC 95106)
- Labourers in fish and seafood (NOC 95107
In NB EE stream these NOCs are not considered for expression of interest (EOI).
