OINP has made significant changes to its OINP process to streamline operations and improve the integrity. These changes are designed to simplify the employer led application process, support the changing ontario labor market and enhance the transparency in applications’s assesmements.

Launch of The New Employer Portal

The OINP has launched the new electronic employer portal which transforms the Employer Job Offer stream into an employer led application process.

Employers can now register their business online and provide the information of the job offer easily in the portal.This will help employers to easily enable the applicant’s interest in Expression of Interest.

In Person Interview Requirements Introduced

To check the authentication and credibility of the applications the OINP has now introduced in person interview requirements for employers and foreign national OINP applicants.

It will be implemented case by case, and accommodation will be provided when needed. This is done to counter the misuse and fraud in OINP so that only genuine applications are approved.

Authority to return applications

OINP has made a major shift in its application process and now have the authority to return the applications before they issue a nomination. This means applicants will be notified when their application is returned.

A full refund of the application fees will be provided. This helps OINP to prioritize the complete and selected applications as per the labor market needs, nomination space and program integrity.

Eased Education Requirements of Early Childhood Educators

Good news for Early Childhood Educators and Assistants. The OINP has slashed the education requirements in PNP for applicants applying in following stream:

  • Human Capital Priorities (HCP) Stream;
  • French Speaking Skilled Worker (FSSW) Stream

Applicants who select TEER 42202 (Early Childhood Educators and Assistants) as their primary NOC, no longer need to meet the formal education requirement if they are registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators.

This is an important update to reduce barriers for experienced ECE and ECEAs who already contributing to local economy who were previously struggling to gain formal education for their permanent residency application via OINP.
