Ontario is making changes in OINP to make it more flexible, advanced, transparent and better aligned with current Ontario labor market needs. These changes are the part of much bigger plan known as Working for workers seven act, 2025 planned for this year. In this article we have only covered the OINP part.
Important OINP changes planned
- OINP officers will be able to request in person interviews of OINP applicants to prevent fraud and misrepresentation.
- The Ontario Immigration Minister can create new immigration streams as well as cancel existing ones based on current labor market demands.
- The OINP can return the PNP applications that no longer meets the Ontario’s job needs.
- A brand new OINP employer portal will be launched in summer of 2025 to allow employers to submit PNP applications digitally and keep track of the progress.
This will help Ontario to select high performing and quality candidates for immigration and eliminate any kind of fraud.
Ontario is digitally transforming itself into the new era of Immigration and workforce strategy as it faces intense risk from the Trump’s new business and trade policies. Ontario will integrate real time job data, enhanced IT tools and planned investments, to help Ontario better prepare and fill job vacancies with qualified talent.
OINP hasn’t conducted OINP draw from several months and OINP applicants are on the edge of expiring work permits. Hopefully OINP we will be able to see next OINP draws soon.
